TURKEY TAIL CORIOLUS extract and pulvis from the mycelium of Coriolus Versicolor.
Turkey tail – Coriolus versicolor is known in Romania as the turkey tail, foresters call it the “doctor of forests”, because it breaks down all the dryness and transforms it into nutrients for the soil. Due to its woody structure, it is not used in food, although it is edible. Instead, it is a medicinal mushroom with many uses in traditional medicine, in the form of pulvis and extract.
It is studied in the case of neoplastic conditions. A 2012 study showed decreased mortality 1 in patients who were treated with standard therapies but still had an increased predisposition. It is a medicinal mushroom researched in relation to cells that have undergone mutations at the gastric 2 , colorectal 3 , pulmonary 4 level and beyond. Its effects on health are considered significantly superior when it is associated with classical medication, with which it works in synergy.
This fungus is also studied for its immunomodulatory effect 5 (it modulates the response of the immune system in such a way as to prevent overloading and the appearance of pathologies caused by dysregulated immunity). High potential for use in various bacterial infections 6 , proliferative pathologies 7 , but also in the case of cardiovascular inflammatory phenomena 8 , frequent in the case of hyperglycemia.
