Polyporus – Mushroom with Leaves, it is called so not because it has the photosynthesis organ of plants, but because of the clustering of fruiting organs, which make it resemble a leafah. In the fruiting body of the fungus Polyporus umbellatus, active substances are secreted that have been studied in relation to the accelerated elimination of sodium and excess water from the body 1 , possibly associated with the selective regulation of blood pressure.
They are also studied in relation to the normal functionality of the kidneys 2 , the proliferation of mutant cells 3 in the urinary bladder 4 . Of great interest are also the researches that highlight the effects of the Mushroom with leaves in relation to the hepatitis B virus 5 , including the specific antiviral medication that could increase its effectiveness 6 .
