Shiitake – The Emperor’s Mushroom is a mushroom native to Japan. It is often seen as just…food, being very popular in Asian cuisine. What is less known is the fact that, in certain phases of growth, they synthesize some very bitter substances, called beta-glucans, with special physiological effects.
